DALLAS, TX (May 18, 2017) – Soundgarden frontman, Chris Cornell was found dead after a performance at the Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan.  Soundgarden was in Detroit performing with on a US tour that kicked off last month and was expected to run until May 27.  His passing was “sudden and unexpected,” his representative, Brian Bumbery, said in a statement to CNN.

According to CNN, Joey Mugan was one of the last concert goers to see Chris Cornell perform live,  “Honestly something looked off last night with him.  I just didn’t think about it because the show was great.” Mugan managed to grab the set list from the front of the stage. On it, the encore performance is different than what was actually played, which isn’t that unusual for a live rock show.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially ruled Cornell’s death a suicide by hanging.
