New York Magazine, “Genius…the best thing he’s put out in a decade”; Rolling Stone, “Personal and urgent…close to the magnum opus of his dreams”; Entertainment Weekly, “the poet laureate of unadulterated heartbreak, a master chronicler of the endless shapes and colors of romantic pain” and the Associated Press hailed Prisoner as the multiple Grammy nominee’s best in 10 years or more, while People noted “even when his lyrics cling to loss, Adams lets in light with melody,” and The AV Club observed “He sounds like he’s savoring how full of life his music is, no matter what it took to make it so. He hasn’t just turned misery into art; he’s turned it into joy.”

Ryan Adams is currently in the midst of the Prisoner world tour, which swings through New York next week, beginning with a May 1 stop at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert followed by a sold out show at Toronto’s Massey Hall on May 9.
