XGames 2016 preview

AUSTIN, TX – The ESPN X Games will be back in Austin for the third (and sadly last) year in 2016. We couldn’t be more excited to be part of this world class event being hosted at the Circuit of the Americas.  As we have seen in prior years, the weekend will encompass high adrenaline sport competitions, incredible stunts and, of course, killer musical performances.  In other words, all the excitement you can handle in one weekend!  Are you ready?

This year will be a special one since numerous improvements have been made to the viewing areas and the course designs.  The XGames design team was very excited to preview the improvements made to the  skateboard and bike park as well as their Big Air and street courses with us. They highlighted that they have taken a lot of the feedback from athletes as they were building the courses and they are very excited to see  “never before seen” tricks during the competition.

The course layout has also been much improved this year. The distances between courses has been reduced significantly to help minimize the amount of walking required. XGames has added several shaded viewing areas that will allow the fans to be much closer to the action but not overheat in the Austin summer. While the rain has had some impact on the construction of the courses, the XGames staff assured us that they will be ready for the hi-octane competition as well as the enthusiastic fandom

This year, the main events will feature BMX and skateboard Big Air, dirt, park and street BMX,  Moto X Best Trick, and Moto X Freestyle. Check out the Xgames lineup page for more information on all the events that will take place.

Of course, it wouldn’t be XGames without an amazing lineup of music along with the competition. This year, Logic and G-Easy will be dropping beats on Friday night and All Time Low and Blink 182 will rock the stage on Saturday.

We can’t wait for the games to begin! Come join us at the Circuit of the Americas starting on Thursday night! Tickets are still available.
